Happy Holidays

On behalf of the coaching staff we want to wish everyone a Happy Holidays! We hope that everyone enjoys the break and stays safe!

Also do not forget about our Swim-A-Thon that is happening January 15! Our team goal is $1,500.00 raised. Donors can either pledge a certain amount of money per lengths swam or make a flat donation in support.  If donors want to write a check they can make the check payable to Grandville Community Ed.

We also decided that if parents would like to swim they will be able to swim 7:00pm-8:00pm the night of the swim-a-thon. If you are interested in swimming it will be a flat donation of at least $40. We are also able to get times done if you need them for triathlons.

Be sure to grab a donation envelope from in the stands!

Zeeland Invite tomorrow

Tomorrow meet will be at Zeeland Natatorium. Here is the link to the map to the school.

10 & under swimmers need to be to the pool by 7:45am. The meet will begin at 9:00am. They will be sitting in the gym. This gym has a tendency to be cold so be sure they dress warm. Also a good suggest is to bring a lawn chair so they have somewhere to sit.

11 & up swimmers will be on the pool deck by 11:45. Their meet begins at 1:00pm. They will be sitting on the pool deck.

Thursday, December 17, 2015

Practice is canceled tonight due to the pool breaking over the night. Tomorrows practice will be at the middle school at the same time. Next weeks practices will also be at the middle school if the high school pool is not fixed.

I will keep you guys posted as things develope!

Wednesday, December 16, 2015

On behalf of the coaching staff we are excited to announce our Swim-A-Thon fundraising campaign for 2015/2016. Our team goal this season is to raise $1,500.00 and we will put this money towards getting more flippers in the smaller size along with being able to cover some of the expenses of our end of the year party. Donors can either pledge a certain amount of money per length swam or make a flat donation in support. Swimmers are allowed a maximum of 200 lengths.

Our Swim-A-Thon will involve all swimmers who are able to attend and will be held on January 15 during all practice times. To make things a little more interesting we will be having a wager between age groups (8 and under, 9&10, 11&up). The age group that collects the most money will get a prize!

So over the holiday season start spreading the word to family, friends, business colleagues, social contacts and those that support the sport of swimming in our community. Envelopes for donations are available on the Age Group bulletin board outside of the pool stands these will be due the day of the Swim-A-Thon.

Thank You!

Thank you parents for all your guys help this past weekend, we could not have done it with out you guys! I heard from so many parents from other teams and coaches how much fun this meet was and how it was so well organized! I also want to give a special shout out to the 11 & up girls that helped with marshaling, you all are what made the morning session run so smoothly and fast!

If you have not checked the folders in the stands yet there are ribbons and pictures in them, so be sure to pick them up!

Apparel Orders are in!

If you did not pick up your apparel orders last night you may do so today! An adult must be present to get the order, kids can not pick them up. Also orders will NOT be handed out at the meet tomorrow!

Please also remember to write names on all articles of clothing! If things get left it is easier for me to make sure you get them back before they end up in the lost and found.

Kentwood Invitational

Swimmers who are signed up to swim at the Kentwood Invite this weekend need to be to East Kentwood Aquatic Center by 7:45am. There will be a coach by the check-in table to help swimmers check in and show them where the locker room is.

Please remember that there are no parents allowed on the pool deck! The meet will begin at 9am and swimmers are free to leave when they are finished with all their events.

Swimmers need to bring with them: Towel, goggles, swim cap, suit. Also a good option to bring: a healthy snack, something to keep them busy that they are also not worried about getting wet, an extra towel, and a folding chair so they don't have to sit on the ground.

Just a reminder that swimmers 11 & up are no longer allowed to write their numbers on their hands. They can however bring a piece of paper to write it on and keep with them.

Please remind swimmers to be sure to pick up their area when it is time to go. Grandville has a great reputation of keeping their areas clean at away meets and we would love to keep this going!

Also on the website are sign-ups for the Zeeland Invitational (December 19), this is an optional meet. Entries are due by December 11.
